New Deck

Construction is underway on our new deck! In a few weeks, we will have a completely new outdoor space and it can't come soon enough! The kids have been mesmerized by the construction every day Sonia asks when the workers are coming and whether or not they'll be careful. Fortunately we can still play on our new playground set!

While the demolition was underway, we had a beautiful dumpster parked in our driveway. And since the weather was spectacular, we decided to BBQ on our driveway - what we called a "dumpster cookout". Thankfully the dumpster is gone and the rebuilding is underway!

Happy Birthday Olive!

Olive has quite the year. She has survived 3 surgeries but has returned home and settled in nicely. She is now more "outdoor dog" than indoor and loves playing with the kids in the backyard especially when they are outside on their new playset. To commemorate her 6th birthday, we baked a cake and sang Happy Birthday in her honor. Unfortunately for her, she was unable to enjoy the cake - but we did on her behalf!

Mother's Day

We had a perfect Mother's Day - the sun was shining, I got to sleep in and it was a perfect day :) We spent the morning at Newcastle Beach (5 min from our house!) and the kids had a blast playing in the sand and water. We had a lunch picnic at one of the many tables there and soaked in the sun. Neal has turned into our little fearless dude and Sonia is always the protective sister - even when it comes to feeding her little brother ice cream.

 

For dinner that evening, we went to one of our favorite neighborhood Mexican restaurants but only after going out for ice cream (my request). As usual, Neal devoured all the guacamole and refried beans...
