Last week, the 3 of us headed to New Jersey for Aparna and Scott's engagement party. Even though Sonia flew quite a bit after she was first born, we were nervous how she'd do now that she prefers to crawl and stand vs sitting still for 6 hours. But she was a champ and we made it across the country with few cries and fewer enemies. We had tons of family in town for the big event (including Sonia's other set of grandparents and a guest appearance by Auntie Hilary and Uncle Billy!), which was a great opportunity for Sonia to meet all her aunties and uncles she'd heard so much about.
She even met her cousin Vishwa and her penpal Laila for the first time and saw many of mom's cousins. The house was full of grandparent and auntie and uncle love! Sonia became a bit overwhelmed from all the attention and clung to mom and dad, but the minute we got home and she saw her doggy Olive, she quickly reverted to her usual, independent self. I guess she is a creature of habit!
It was so nice to see everyone and especially spend time with Aparna and Scott and his family. It is getting us all in the wedding spirit and especially for a cousin reunion among the little ones!

Sonia is just unbelievably even more wonderful in person, and just as gorgeous as the rest of her fam!
can't wait to see her and the rest of the gang again in September!!
