Cannon Beach - First family vacation

We drove the entire family down  including Olive (who got ACL surgery there) and on our way back home, we spent a few days on the Oregon coast in Cannon Beach, where we had the most spectacular view from our beachfront room. It was our first family vacation as a family of four (plus poor Olive in her cone) and a great way to celebrate both Erich and my birthdays.

Oktoberfest in Oregon

Frau Kemmling's is open! Erich's sister's restaurant has opened and we planned our 2 week visit to coincide with it's annual Oktoberfest party. Like last year, everyone dressed up in authentic German clothes. The weather during our stay was incredible and was in the 80s the entire time - like a second summer. Perfect for German beer! All 8 grand kids were together and Sonia loved playing with her cousins every day - and it was fun for Neal to meet everyone. 

Oktoberfest 2010

Frau Kemmling's (Erich's sister) restaurant opened up in August, and we headed down to Jacksonville for their annual Oktoberfest party. This is the 3rd annual event, and each year has gotten bigger and bigger. This year, there were over 3000 people in attendance! It was also the first time in 3 years that the whole family had been together. We had a great time! This picture is in restaurant's dining room, with the kitchen behind us.
