Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas! Sonia's first Christmas was a white one this year - complete with snow showers and a big visit from Santa. The holiday season started off with Deepa and Sonia being snowed in and really sick (not a good combination while Erich was traveling) for 4 days. With a surprise visit from Deepa's mom followed by a week of R&R in Medford, everyone was healthy and recovered by the time Christmas rolled in. Unfortunately we missed taking a family trip to San Francisco to meet up wtih Sonia's cousin Ananya and her family, which was really sad. However, once in Medford, Sonia got some quality time with her grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins, and after multiple Christmas celebrations - it turned out to be a perfect holiday!

Happy Thanksgiving!!

Thanksgiving week was a big one in our house. I returned to work on Monday, after having almost 5 months of maternity leave. This meant that Sonia started attending daycare as well...but fortunately her new "school" is in my office building, right downstairs! So far she appears to have enjoyed her first 3 days of daycare, and I survived being apart from Sonia. And thanks to all the activity of her "curriculum", Sonia was exhausted in the evenings and slept through every night!

We stayed in Seattle for Thanksgiving this year and joined our friends Kelsey and Tony for dinner at their place. It was so much fun, the food was great, and Sonia and her buddy Reilly had a great time playing together.

Recently we discovered that Sonia knows her own name! Ok - she will look in your general direction if you say her name repeatedly, but we think that is a good start. Also, she'll giggle at you if you are smiling at her. And also exciting, she is into some new toys as you can see from the pictures below.

Sonia is getting so big! She had her 4 month appt today and took her shots like a champ (better than Mom). Check her out sitting in her "chair". Olive loves it since they're on the same level!
