Happy Easter! Nana and Papa visited us for Easter weekend, and helped make Sonia's first Easter a memorable one. We had a visit from the Easter bunny, made sugar eggs (an AshPat tradition!) and watched Daddy sing in the church choir.

Nana and Sonia had a great time reading books, eating together and taking walks around our neighborhood. Sonia loved learning about the Easter bunny!

The Easter bunny visited Sonia's room early in the morning and brought an Easter basket filled with goodies, including books, shoes, a mini Peter Rabbit and other fun stuff. Mom and Dad got adult baskets too (filled with yummy things like olive tapenade...mmm)

Growing up, Erich made sugar eggs as an Easter tradition. He has made at least 20 eggs since he was a kid, so it was fun to pass on the tradition to Sonia. She got a little help, but her egg turned out great.

Dad got into the sugar egg fun. Look at how Sonia looks on as "her" egg is created. It sort of got competitive between her and Dad's egg - but of course Sonia won.

Among the many activities of the weekend, a new "pet" Giraffe was acquired. We named her Cindy, since we decided she needed a sassy name to fit in. At first Olive was a bit scared of our new family member, but then quickly determined that she wasn't real competition.

What can you say about Olive?

While they were here, Nana and Papa "adopted" a new Easter Bunny. I was freaked out by it several times during the weekend, but it finally grew on me. I wanted to make sure it got an appearance on the blog - since it was a big part of the weekend. We were sad to see it go.
